The Orthodox Christian Youth Movement (OCYM) was formed in 1936 at Mavelikara under the patronage of Metropolitan Geevarghese Mar Philexinos and Clery P.E Daniel (Late H.G. Daniel Mar Philexinos Metropolitan) was appointed as the first General Secretary. The movement continues its journey with broader visions and effective Christian youth leadership.

The Orthodox Christian Youth Movement (OCYM) unit at St. Marys Orthodox Church was formed in 2010 under the spiritual guidance of our vicar Rev. Fr. Joshua George, fondly known as Binoy Achen. Achen has been a great inspiration in fostering spiritual awakening among the youth members of the church. The youth movement is a group of enthusiastic youngsters and married couples from the age group of 25 to 40.

Youth meetings and Bible Studies are held every month. These sessions involve Prayer, Bible reading, songs, group discussions, games and classes on faith, liturgy and traditions of the church. Other activities include Quiz, Conference, Social and fund raising projects for Charity. The unit has been actively involved in various spiritual, cultural and social activities of the church and has been functioning with a vision to encourage Worship, Study and Service.
